DEM/DET lookup: frequently asked questions
Understand the coverage and sources of lookup results.
Where can I check DEM/DET tariffs?
Select carriers and conditions such as country, port, import/export, charge type and container on the home or comparison page. Supported conditions return results based on official sources. Otherwise, verify through the official page or the carrier.
Can I check Free Time by carrier?
Free Time is displayed when available in a supported lookup result. It is not available for every condition across all 33 carriers, and missing values are not estimated.
Can I compare multiple carriers?
Select multiple carriers on the comparison page to see a carrier comparison table for the same requested conditions. Delivery status, currencies, day-count rules and applicable terms may differ, so do not compare amounts alone.
Can I check both Demurrage and Detention?
Choose DEMURRAGE, DETENTION or COMBINED in the lookup conditions. Coverage varies by carrier and region. Each comparison uses the selected charge type.
Is IndustryQuery based on official sources?
We prioritize official carrier tariff pages and documents and provide source links. IndustryQuery is not an official carrier website. A homepage or service link alone does not verify a specific tariff.
How do realtime results differ from previously verified data?
LIVE retrieves official sources at request time and passes supported-condition and parsing checks. CACHE reuses previously verified results. SNAPSHOT shows a valid last verified result when realtime lookup is unavailable and must not be treated as a current tariff.
What if automated verification is unavailable?
Check the manual-verification status and official source, then confirm your conditions on the carrier page or with the carrier. Numbers are not estimated when automatically verified tariffs are unavailable.
How can I tell whether the information is current?
Check the LIVE, CACHE or SNAPSHOT status and any provided effective date and last official verification time against the official source. Site deployment and guide generation dates are not tariff verification dates. Missing dates do not establish that a tariff is current.
